I love these whimsical cut-paper illustrations by Carin Berger. Not only does she compose these beautiful illustrations but she is a children’s author as well. She uses scraps of ephemera, used clothing catalogues, old ticket stubs, basically anything she can find. Her blog is also a great source for vintage photography, illustration and ephemera.
I can’t find any information on this illustrator other than I think she’s Finish but I love these prints from Sami Vähä-Aho via/ Polkka Jam. They have tons of other great items for the home over there with a Finnish flair to them.
Ryan Beshara is the designer behind ModernPOP, has a BFA in photography from Parson’s School of Design in New York and a background in advertising. No wonder she makes such great mid-century inspired nursery art in her Etsy store. Simple and quirky and I love her colour palette.
You’ve probably seen Aaron Meshon’s work in stores, especially if you frequent Chapters or Indigo because your son is obsessed with the train tables in the kids department. I first saw his work on a puzzle about robots we received for christmas and ended up playing with it more than my son. He is also responsible for all the adorable water bottles and backpacks with trucks on them from Crocodile Creek. He’s got a great naive style and incorporates tons of little details into his work which kids love. He’s a crowd pleaser.
Love these children’s illustrations by Montreal native Amy Blay. She now works in the UK and there’s a whole Q&A section of her site as well that is pretty great. Love getting some insight into the glamorous lives of freelancers. Oh to work in slippers all day…
