Everytime the Olympics come around I complain and whine about how terrible they’re going to be and what a waste of money bla bla bla and then when they start I get sucked in like everyone else. For the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics though, I got teary-eyed watching every competition. I don’t know what it is!! Maybe now that I have a son I picture him growing up to be an Olympian or something. In any case, these games instilled some sort of Canadian pride (14 medals what WHAT??) in me not to mention the fact that I’ve never watched a hockey game in my life but was glued to the tv for almost all of them. Anyway, I’m sad they’re over and here are a few of my favorite photos.

Highlight: The kick-ass faux woodgrain podium!

Lowlight: The opening AND closing ceremonies. They weren’t terrible but why didn’t they just hire Cirque du Soleil to do it properly rather than trying to rip them off terribly? They’re even CANADIAN!!
